Our Supporters
Marine Moms-Bethesda is not an IRS-recognized 501(C)3 and we do not solicit donations, which makes our Supporters’ gifts even more important as acts of love and stewardship toward our wounded, injured and ill combat troops. Please consult your tax adviser concerning your donations if this is an issue for you.
Our Supporters’ (aka “Elfs”) generous donations supporting Marine Moms-Bethesda’s mission of providing lunch and comfort items to the wounded, injured, and ill combat Veterans are deeply and gratefully appreciated. Luncheons are hosted at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (formerly Bethesda National Naval Medical Center), and we have recently expanded to Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. Supporter contributions enable us to continue serving the troops and their families on the surgical in-patient combat ward, ICU, the combat wings on the 7th floor, and at Mercy Hall, an out-patient transistion barracks, during a very challenging, very stressful time of their lives. We serve ALL service branches.
100% of contributions go to the direct support of our wounded warriors. There’s someone who is fond of saying that early on he tried to tell us to use part of his monetary donations for gas money or to go to dinner ourselves… and that he still has bruises over that comment after all these years. That isn’t true at all.
He’s 700 miles away. All I did was send him a picture of a flyswatter.
