Today,
is our Independence Day.
The word Independence has certainly taken on a new meaning to me over the past few years, and i hope
it has for you as well.
I know that I am currently thousands of miles away from home, but i hope that my words will be heard.
I know one sound that is, and it stretches across the entire globe. It's the sound of a Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, Husband,
Wife, or Child, crying.
Crying because this war has taken the life of someone important to them, but the rest of the world goes
on.
We should all shed a tear, for every American life that has been lost in this conflict, for ignorance is not bliss.
But,
we should also rejoice, that we live in a country where young men and women are willing to stand up and risk their lives so that we
can continue to enjoy our Independence.
I sit here today, not asking for you to feel sorry for the loss of anyone's life, nor do i
wish you to celebrate their courage.
I simply ask today that you remember them. Remember their commitment and their sacrifice,
because they are why we can celebrate today, our Independence Day.

If I were the regents or alumni of certain large universities in this county, I would be embarrassed to be producing students of such
ignorance and naïve notions.
Like mindless sheep, they march with painted faces and trite sayings on signs, blissfully ignorant
of the world they live in, and the system that protects them, hoping maybe to make the evening news.
Perhaps if they had spent
more time in class they would have learned that those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it.
They might have learned
that all it takes for evil to succeed in the world, is for good people to stand by and do nothing.
If they had simply gone back
in history as recently as the Viet Nam War, they would have learned that an enemy that knows it can never defeat us militarily, will
persist as long as there is dissention and disruption in our land.
Their ignorance can be understood, as their young empty minds
have been filled with the re-written history tripe that tenured leftist professors can spew out with no fear of removal.
But
the unwitting aid they provide the enemy, in disrupting the national resolve, is unforgivable.

"My son was assigned a paper over any health issue in English. He decided to write on PTSD. He writes a decent paper
(has received an A or B on the others) with nine references and a doctors report included.
He gets his paper back and
it has a D-.
He asks the liberal teacher what was wrong with the paper.
The teacher said my son didn't
have enough knowledge of the subject matter!***
He asked me if he should include the three volumes of his medical
records with
his re-write."

the civilian world and is going to college full-time.
"Since the beginning of the war, 6,200 schools have been repaired, and an estimated 60 thousand teachers have been trained. I have
personally seen these schools, spoken with these teachers, and helped the children with their homework. They are highly grateful
for the feats that may have never been accomplished if it were not for our assistance. "
"When was the last time the general
public saw that on television?"

Thank you for your service.
Our country would not be what it is today without
men and women like
you.
Vince says it way better than I ever could.
"...Some have scars on the outside,
others have scars on the inside,
many have
both.
No matter, though,
they all carry their scars for us.
Veterans - the backbone of this country - have my greatest respect
and deepest gratitude.
May everything they have done for this country not be in vain."

"Heroes are people who overcome evil by doing good at great personal risk.
Through self-sacrifice, fortitude and action -- whether they succeed or fail -- heroes provide a moral and ethical framework -- and inspiration -- for the rest of us."
--Former Marine Oliver North
