Since becoming a Marine mom in 2003, I have learned how important it is for military parents to connect with other military parents,
not to believe everything in print or on television, and that every one of us has a strength deep down inside to draw upon when we
need it most.
My hope here is to honor the troops and to share online resources, letting you know that you are not alone.

August 5, 2009 - Arlington Cemetary Visit
Not long ago a friend and I visited Arlington National Cemetery to pay our
respects.. You can read about our visit
here.
We saw the sacrifices paid all through our Country's history. We didn't just
see them, we were enveloped by them every which way we looked..
Until next time, continued prayers for our military and their families.
I could also see the Pentagon.
Walking the grounds of Arlington was like walking through history on hallowed grounds. As I stood on the hill where Arlington House
is, I could see monuments and federal buildlings... the Washington Monument, the Capitol Building, the Jefferson Memorial...
I noticed that all of the headstones face outward, many toward the Potomac River and across the Potomac is D.C. .
I
thought to myself, standing on the hill, looking at all the gravestones, seeing the Capitol in the background, "How things have changed over
the years... makes me wonder what the men and women buried here would think if they were around today."

We had a luncheon at Mercy Hall Thursday. I went over the day before to do the shopping with Jean and we did
the prep work at her house.
The luncheon went very well and the page will go up on the luncheon site soon. It's always
an adventure and worth every bit of time of effort doing them.
***Update - the August luncheon can be found
here.
