Stocking Stuffer Ideas:

AA batteries

Phone cards

Dunkin Donuts gift cards

Subway gift cards

Toiletry items – razors (not disposable), “manly” soap, cologne

(We already have plenty of toothbrushes, toothpaste, and regular hygiene stuff.)

Computer stuff

Tic-Tacs

Lifesavers candy

OR… what would YOU put in YOUR son or daughter's stocking if they were home this year?

These are the types of things we would like to fill the stockings with. Think - “Touches of Home”.

No time to shop but would still like to help?

We can do the shopping for you with a Sam’s Club or Wal-Mart gift card.

(Just a note - we see very few, if any, wounded female warriors at Bethesda.)

Holiday and Christmas Cards

Well thought out notes (more than just a signature but they don't have to be long), handwritten by you, one or lots. We will screen them, sort them, and bundle them together with cheery ribbon to hand deliver with the stockings and cookies.

New postmark date is November 10, 2009.

Please – NO glitter, paste, flocking, sequins, or anything that can fall off the cards and get into open wounds.

Flat-faced cards are best.

No enclosures inside the cards.

If cards from more than one signature are included in a package please bundle each signature separately in Ziploc bags or with rubber bands to help us sort the cards.

Do not seal the envelopes OR do not put the cards in envelopes.

As much as we would like to,

we cannot guarantee that a card will go to a specific service branch.

If you would like to, feel free to include a card for the hospital staff and/or the Marine Liaison Staff at Bethesda.

Please keep the messages upbeat, supportive, and enouraging!

Holiday Cheer at Bethesda 2009

The Holidays are right around the corner

and the Marine Moms-Bethesda "Elfs"

Elf Grace, Elf Suzan, Elf Susan, and Elf Jane will be serving up a special holiday luncheon with all the fixin’s while Elf Jess will be there offering free seated massages.
Homemade stockings stitched by Bayside Quilters "Elfs" will be stuffed
full of special goodies by our "Elfs".
and
HO-HO-Handed out by very special Santa Marines

from the Choptank Marine Corps League Detachment #439.

We’ll have containers of homemade cookies baked by our local “Elfs” for each Warrior

and holiday cards from around the country
